Description: Stand Up 101 gives everyday people the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of stand-up comedy. Participants will work on writing and performing their own material and perform live on stage at the Comedy Castle.
Requirements: Participants should be self-starters with a desire to perform stand up. Comedy isn’t easy. It takes time and dedication outside the class room. Potential comics should ask themselves “Do I have the time to commit?” “Am I open to direction and advice?” “Do I have the ability to stay focused on writing for the next 30 days?” Participants are expected to spend time outside of the class/club setting working on their set.
What to expect in the class meetings: Class meets will consist of comics performing their material for tweaking, critiquing and idea sharing. Class will also focus on basic public speaking skills to help better serve your set.
What to expect from the FaceTime meeting: This will be a one-on-one session with class instructor to help punch up jokes, answer questions and offer advice.
